This morning I went for a walk\run to the beach and there was this rainbow over Santa Antão which was incredible. I think it had just rained in Santa Antão because we got rain as I was leaving, hence the rainbow. I did not have my camera which is unfortunate but it was so beautiful and really made my day.
I also met this really nice girl on the beach and we ran together, she taught me some Kreolu and we are going to try to meet everyday (at 630). Thatºs all Iºve got for now...

- After graduating from Binghamton University in 2008 with a degree in History, I moved to Mindelo, Cape Verde, as a Peace Corps Volunteer. After two years of working at SOS Children's Village, I decided to stay in Mindelo where I am working and enjoying life. One of my favorite quotes that I believe really sums up the reason I decided to join the Peace Corps and my mission in life is Reese Witherspoon's Oscar acceptance speech for Walk the Line: "...people used to ask June how she was doing. And she used to say, "I'm just tryin' to matter." And, I know what she means, you know. I'm just trying to matter and live a good life and make work that means something to somebody."
